The Property Finders - expert property finders in Madrid

Madrid, at the heart of Spain

Sitting right at the heart of the Iberian peninsula, Madrid is Spain’s capital and biggest city and made up of many districts (barrios), each with its own history, character and ambience. There are property options to suit all tastes and budgets and the key to identifying the right one for you depends on getting independent, impartial and balanced advice from an expert with years' of experience in the city. The Madrid property market is competitive and fast moving but, if you have your own agent and property finder working exclusively for you, you can get a head start.

We make a difference. We are buyers' agents, your agents, so we will act in your interests at all times. On the contrary, real estate agents act in the seller’s interest, that’s their job. We are very experienced negotiators. We often save our clients many times the cost of our fee.

The areas of Madrid covered by The Property Finders

The Property Finders will search for your property in the areas encircled by the M-30 ring road and in Las Rozas just to the west, shaded on this map.

Chamartín

Chamartín lies to the east of Po de la Castellana, the 6km long tree-lined boulevard that runs north - south  from the M-30 right into the heart of the city and the Plaza de Colon. Chamartín is a government, business and corporate area in the city. with offices, shops, malls and restaurants which are busy during the day but much quieter after business hours and will suit those who value a peaceful neighbourhood rather than nightlife. The streets set back from La Castellana are more residential and work well for families and couples looking for more modern and high quality properties.  Very good access to the airport by car or from Chamartín train station, ideal if you will be travelling in and out of Madrid regularly.

Salamanca

Situated to the south of Chamartín, Salamanca is, without doubt, one of Madrid’s top residential address. Located between the M-30 to the east, the Po de la Castellana to the west, the southern limit is the Calle de O’Donnell and Calle de Alcalá, leading to one of Madrid’s most emblematic spaces, the Plaza de Cibeles. Immediately to the south, Salamanca borders the El Retiro Park

Alonso Martinez

Adjacent to the Salamanca district but on the west side of the Po de la Castellana, Alonso Martinez is the equal of Salamanca in terms of desirability as a place to live. Very central and with excellent connections to other parts of the city but there’s plenty of choice locally with smart boutiques, shops and restaurants which give the neighbourhood its authentic madrileño atmosphere. And it also benefits by being adjacent to two of the younger and trendier localities in the city, Malasaña and Chueca.

Chamberí

Chamberí is a traditional 19th century neighbourhood on the west of the Po de la Castellana.  It has it all;  shopping, local markets, restaurants, cinemas and cafes. It’s a relaxed neighbourhood  with a small-town feeling and the population is a mix of locals who were born and brought up in the area, younger professionals and international students. Great location if you want to be able to walk to almost everything while property options include traditional and more spacious apartments, perhaps needing some updating.

El Retiro

With 150 hectares of open spaces, El Retiro Park, was awarded UNESCO World Heritage status in 2021. El Retiro is noticeably less pricey than its neighbour to the north, Salamanca. Also close by is the Royal Botanical Garden, making El Retiro one of the greenest spaces in the whole of Madrid, and El Prado, one of the world’s top museums. The area is ideal for families with children and will suit buyers looking for a quiet environment not too far from the city centre

Malasaña

An alternative vibe can be found in the neighbourhood of Malasaña with its centre around the Plaza del Dos de Mayo. It's a vibrant neighbourhood, full of bars and cafés that are crowded at weekends with all sorts of people but residents tend to be more of the arty style. A lot of its streets have been renovated, making it a much more attractive quarter and attracting a growing number of good, reasonably priced restaurants and interesting shops as well as apartments. Since the area is filled with bars and cafes, it can feel quite vibrant and hectic. The area attracts a lot of students who are seeking to live the Madrid way of life.

Chueca

This neighbourhood is known for being at the heart of Madrid’s gay community. The area has gone from being very run down to one of the most attractive places to live in since it was restored and renovated.

It’s situated north of the most famous street in Madrid, the Gran Via, that runs from Plaza de la Cibeles to Plaza de Espana. Chueca offers a glimpse of the real spirit of this city. Life evolves around the square and underground station of the same name. There is a small market where you can find whatever you need. The big advantage is its central location and that it is well connected to the rest of the city by the underground. There are several great eateries and places to meet friends, including one very famous market – The Mercado San Anton.

Las Letras

The area known as the Barrio de las Letras (Literary Quarter) is a neighbourhood in the centre of Madrid where some of Spain’s greatest writers have lived and worked for centuries. Today it is an area which combines literature, a bohemian atmosphere, entertainment, shopping and good food. In contrast to the elegant and tree-lined boulevards of the Po de la Castellana, the Gran Via and the Calle de Alcalá, this district is the Madrid of narrow, pedestrianised streets so its easy walking distance to everything needed for daily life and perfect for experiencing life in Madrid as its been lived for generations of madrileños

Madrid de Los Austrios

The most historic district in the city, referencing the Hapsburg empire and the height of Spanish political and military dominance throughout Europe and the location of the Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace and the Almudena Cathedral. Enjoy Madrid food at classic restaurants and bars and join the locals at the famous San Miguel food market.

Argüelles - Moncloa

Leaving behind the historic city centre the Calle de Princesa takes you to Argüelles on the west side of the city with easy access to the M - 30 ring road. The Parque del Oueste provides a lovely green space and the Calle de Princesa has shops, bars and restaurants for everyday needs.  This street leads to Moncloa and University City, where the campuses of various Universities and colleges are located which means that both these areas are very popular with students.
